Advertorial
Ever had the trouble of finding your children’s medical records? How many more immunisation jabs does my child need to complete the course? When is the next eye check for my child? Does my child’s school provide regular dental care or dental knowledge? And so much more questions …
If you understand what I am talking about above, then I am here to introduce Singapore’s first one-stop online health information & services portal and mobile application (links for Google or Apple App downloads are found at the bottom of this post) by the Ministry of Health (MOH). This portal aims to provide access to key medical records and health content, not only for yourself but also for your children – HealthHub.
HealthHub, a Smart Nation initiative, aims to solicit user feedback to build a digital companion for healthy living for Singaporeans. The introduction of HealthHub is in line with the Government’s aim to build a Smart Nation by harnessing information technology to improve lives, create more opportunities and build stronger communities. It also advances the Heathcare 2020 vision of improving accessibility to health services as well as MOH’s Healthy Living Master Plan’s vision of making healthy living natural and effortless for Singaporeans.
Some of the main objectives of this app includes:
1. Provide Singaporeans with easy access to reliable health-related content, key medical records and e-services.
2. Increase the health literacy of Singaporeans.
3. Encourage the adoption of healthy habits among Singaporeans.
4. Nudge Singaporeans to take greater ownership of their own health and wellness.

Enough talk, let’s jump into the App and take a look.
On the “Home” page, you will see the features of the HealthHub.
Live Healthy | A-Z | Directory | What’s On | Apps | Deals | Rewards | My Health
With a slide to the right, you can start off by logging in to track your personal health records “myHealth” and earn points (which I will talke about later). Log in with your SingPass. If you do not have a SingPass, you can click here to register for one, it will only take you a few minutes.
Once you have logged in, the App will automatically start the searching process for your records history.
My latest Lab Test Results I just had in June this year. So convenient!
Like mentioned, this App does not just allow me to track my personal health records, more importantly for parents, we are able to track and view our children’s health records too. Just go to “Family Health” and start to key in your children’s Birth Certificate Number / NRIC Number. Simple as ABC.
No harm personalizing it with your own photos! =)
Same process will be repeated for your children, the App will automatically search for their health records and update within minutes.
For those with younger kids, if you need to check on their immunisation records, the days of searching high and low for the paper records are over. Just a tap on your phone, and you will have all the records on your finger tips like never before.
What jabs are completed. What jabs are missing. You will know everything in a glance.
In myHealth, you can also view the appointments you have made. No risk of forgetting when to go for your check ups.
An additional security is built in into the App so as to protect whatever health records that may be sensitive or you just don’t want anyone to check your records. Enter a Passcode to unlock your SingPass session.

Last words after reviewing through the entire HealthHub app. It took me quite a well to go through everything. But I think it’s worth it, because this is truly an unique app that finally puts everything in order. From sorting out my messy medical records and those of my girls, to giving me some reading pleasures of interesting health topics, to finding out the nearest health directory, this app has nothing short of being amazing. My question is, “What took you so long to roll out such an app?”
All apps can be improved and here are some suggestions I would like to see in the near future for this app.
1. Possible to add spouse and parents to the FamilyHealth section?
I understand that for spouse and parents, they may have their own SingPass login and this may be a potential problem. But maybe the various authorities involved can work out something like giving permission to certain family members to view the records. Especially so for aging parents who are sometimes forgetful or not so tech savvy to keep track of their health issues. As children, we can help them or remind them.
2. Can the HealthPoints be used to pay for certain deals found in the app?
Currently, the HealthPoints seems to be restricted to use to redeem shopping vouchers, offset grocery at NTUC. Since there is a great list of more than 40 deals provided by various shops, then it makes sense for users to be able to offset HealthPoints for the deals.
3. Appointments, can we make appointments through the app?
The idea of showing what appointments we have is good. What about making it better if we can make appointments via the app? Like Polyclinic appointments, dental appointments, yearly health check ups, x-ray appointments, etc.
