Nickelodeon in collaboration with Changi Airport Group, brought the SpongeBob SquarePants themed Christmas experience at Singapore Changi Airport. This is SpongeBob SquarePants’ first airport collaboration in Asia.
From 15 Nov 2013 to 5 Jan 2014, Singapore families and visitors going through Changi Airport will discover surprises with the following:
1. The world’s tallest SpongeBob SquarePants’ Giant Pineapple House structure at the heart of Terminal 3’s Departure Hall.
This Bikini Bottom-inspired House stands at 11 metres high.
Step into the log house and you will be able to send your Christmas card to Santa!
Or just hug a bear and pose like Jayne.
Look out for the periodic ‘smoke bubbles’ that falls out from the top of the Pineapple House.
2. The biggest SpongeBob SquarePants Super Bouncy Playground in Singapore, also found in Terminal 3’s Departure Hall (Row 11).
Kids can tumble in the Krusty Krab Ball Pit. Or even adults..
Cruise down the giant bouncy slides.
3. Spot SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends at famous places all throughout the three Terminals.
World landmarks in giant topiaries such as Italy’s Leaning Tower of Pisa (Terminal 3).
Here you will find Squidward’s house too.
Surprisingly, Jayne’s favourite character is Mr. Krabs.
Italy’s Colosseum (Terminal 2)
Besides the Colosseum, you will find another SpongeBob SquarePants’ familiar place – The Krusty Krab restaurant.
Don’t forget to take a photo with SpongeBob in his Roman soldier’s uniform.
Turkey’s Trojan horse (Terminal 1), pulled by “Gary” who is SpongeBob’s pet sea snail.
As per all the other giant topiaries, the familiar building from the animated TV series – Chum Bucket, owned by Plankton the rival of Mr. Krabs.
4. Collect limited edition plush toys of SpongeBob and his friends.
[Public area: Visitors can take home a plush toy at $3 when they spend $60 ($120 for supermarkets). Collect a new character each week.]
[Transit area: Spend $150 and get any plush toy at $3. Choose from six characters.]
Send a customized Christmas greetings on Changi Airport’s website (www.changiairport.com/ChangiXmas2013) and stand to win a full set of SpongeBob’s plush toys.
Not only were the children excited to see the different characters (tho their favourite will always be the bouncy castle), the adults like us were equally happy to see the all-familiar characters and buildings coming into life from Bikini Bottom.
The girls have been hugging their latest plush toys every night to sleep.
In Singapore, there are still eateries that use pork lard. I prefer pork lard to be added when as it enhances the taste =)
