Changi Airport Adventure (Part 1) - Coolest Staycation View

Sponsored Staycation

Before this June school holidays, the girls were asking me if we would bring them overseas for a holiday. I told them probably not and you should see the disappointment in their eyes. Then came the good news from the Changi Airport Group! We were invited for a 3D2N adventure at Changi Airport, with a staycation at Crowne Plaza! When I shared the good news with the family, I finally realized that all 3 girls (Kless, Joey & Jayne), just love to stay in a hotel and eat the hotel breakfast. I will not complain.

We woke up early cos we secured a special early check-in time slot from the hotel. No complains for that as well. Girl group photo!

Still enough time for a quick breakfast in Terminal 3, coffee, bread and eggs.

For reference, you can click here to find out all the dining and shopping selections in Changi Airport.

Check-in was smooth with the excellent personal service from the hotel. We were whisked to our room within minutes. And here it is.

DSC_0548

The smiles are all I need to be sure we will have a great family time.

DSC_0544

Feel free to bring your own companions. No extra charges for Smurfette.

DSC_0556

The best part of this staycation is not the bed or bathroom, it is none other than the amazing view no other hotels can offer. The amazing runway view of Changi Airport.

DSC_0562

We can literally sit in front of this view and count the number of flights arriving in Singapore.

 DSC_0559

Brought along my laptop on this trip to complete some work, and with the help of such a view, efficiency increased by a hundred fold.

With time in hand, we took a leisure walk around Changi Airport’s terminals, soaking in the beautiful things and people commuting to and fro, in and out of Singapore.

The girls were so cute when they asked to fly them off to anywhere. One day ladies, maybe we will have a chance to take a flight on the famous SQ plane to a destination of your choice. But now, let’s count our blessings for this staycation =)

Happy times always passes fast, first day was over in a flash.

From 2 to 30 June 2014, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport’s award-winning restaurant, Azur, is running a promotion for a great breakfast deal for the families. Up to four children (below the age of 12) can dine free with every two paying adults for breakfast buffet. Breakfast buffet at Azur is priced at S$33++ per adult.

Just by looking at the photos, I think it’s enough reason to revisit Azur again.

The highlight for every staycation has to be the pool time. It’s a chance for the girls to finally play water and also a chance for the parents to just laze around and do nothing.

The waters were quite cold but it was not a problem for the girls who spent almost the entire morning here.

If you have followed Kless’s blog recently, you would now that the girls went for a modeling class and learnt some modeling tips. At the count of 5-6-7-8, Jayne will automatically pose for the camera. Well trained.

The Club Lounge is normally quite quiet. When we were there, it was almost like we booked the place just for our family.

DSC_0852

The girls were intrigued by the chess set and invented their own rules of play.

DSC_0846

Me? I was just happy to rest and relax one corner with my coffee or wine (depending on the time I visit the lounge), and stare out at the Changi Tower cum pool view.

DSC_0853

Breakfast at the Club Lounge is very personal. The staff treated us like VIPs and were very attentive to our needs and requests. I have to put in a good word for the excellence in their customer service. Keep it up!

DSC_0953

Even on the last day of stay, we were given a late check-out so that we can maximize the pleasure and linger a while longer to enjoy the spectacular view.

In the 3 days at Changi Airport, we visited the transit areas and many other interesting places in the public areas. Read in my next post about Part 2 of this Changi Airport Adventure.

Thanks to Changi Airport Group’s hosting, we had a wonderful 3D2N at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Congratulations to Changi Airport for the second year in a row voted as the World’s Best Airport by air travelers at this year’s Skytrax World Airport Awards.

Nickelodeon in collaboration with Changi Airport Group, brought the SpongeBob SquarePants themed Christmas experience at Singapore Changi Airport. This is SpongeBob SquarePants’ first airport collaboration in Asia.

From 15 Nov 2013 to 5 Jan 2014, Singapore families and visitors going through Changi Airport will discover surprises with the following:

1. The world’s tallest SpongeBob SquarePants’ Giant Pineapple House structure at the heart of Terminal 3’s Departure Hall.

Or just hug a bear and pose like Jayne.

Look out for the periodic ‘smoke bubbles’ that falls out from the top of the Pineapple House.

4. Collect limited edition plush toys of SpongeBob and his friends.
[Public area: Visitors can take home a plush toy at $3 when they spend $60 ($120 for supermarkets). Collect a new character each week.]
[Transit area: Spend $150 and get any plush toy at $3. Choose from six characters.]

Send a customized Christmas greetings on Changi Airport’s website (www.changiairport.com/ChangiXmas2013) and stand to win a full set of SpongeBob’s plush toys.

Not only were the children excited to see the different characters (tho their favourite will always be the bouncy castle), the adults like us were equally happy to see the all-familiar characters and buildings coming into life from Bikini Bottom.

The girls have been hugging their latest plush toys every night to sleep.
