Another amazing children’s playground is opening in Singapore, the FEO (Far East Organization) Children’s Garden @ Gardens by the Bay. Expected to open in the first quarter of 2014, this 1 hectare Children’s Garden is located between the Cloud Forest and the Mangrove Wetland. The garden which is meant for children from 1 to 12 years old, hopes to encourage a deeper appreciation for nature among the youth.

The two key components of the garden are namely water play and forest adventure. The garden will have four areas – Adventure Trail, Fish Fountain, Water Play and Toddler Play.

Adventure Trail – for children aged 6 to 12 years old. Along this trail you will find different balancing equipment, swings, and also a Tree House linked by timber and rope bridges.

Jayne is slightly young for the Adventure Trail, but with adult supervision, she can scale most of the features too.

The ‘spider web’ equipment has always been a very entertaining and challenging feature for the girls, but I’m so glad to see that Joey is finally giving it a try despite her fear of heights. Bravo!

At every station, you will find a friendly staff standing nearby to ensure that the children are playing it the right way and without injuries.

 

Jayne mounting the hi-lo steps. One thing good about such trails is the chance to allow the kids to build their confidence while tackling the task.

   

The steps are made of hard non-slippery synthetic material, best for foot grip.

Finally we reach the rope bridges that links to the Tree House.

Within the Tree House, you will find swings, ropes & poles for children to climb or slide down to the lower level.

 

 

One fun feature here is the ‘net cage’ for children to climb down and sit inside.

And in this case, it caught a beautiful Mrs Kuan.

Once you get down to the lower level either by steps or ropes, more fun play features await.

Giant web-design with mini ‘rock climbing’ rocks around for the older kids to try out their agility.

And as always, the huge slides are a firm favourite.

Fish Fountain – for children aged 2 to 5 years old. This is the smaller scale water play for the younger kids, with chairs placed around the play area for easier adult supervision.

Water Play – for children aged 6 to 12 years old. The main highlight of any playground, features hydro vaults, splash leaves and splines to form an interactive landscape. The coolest part of this landscape is it allows sensors to detect movements of the children to create a corresponding sequence of water effects.

I think the background that stood behind the water play area is such a nice view for photography.

Despite the heat, the girls had a great time in the cool dancing splash of water.

 

Toddler Play – for children aged 1 to 5 years old. This is the mini-version of the Adventure Trail, featuring equipment like balancing beams, seesaw, hammocks and swings.

  

Besides the four main play area, the is also a huge Amphitheatre with covered canopy that serves as a venue to hold educational events.
