River Safari Boo

Never imagine the first visit to the River Safari will be for the Halloween event – Safari Boo. And for the first time, we attended a Halloween event without the “horror”, totally planned for the kids in mind.

Poor Joey who was slightly sick that day, but still so willing to pose for daddy. In the end, she had her fun and the fever was gone. I guess a bit of outdoor walk and sweat does help.

River Safari is different from the Zoo or Night Safari because 80% of the place is under shelter, which makes it so much more relaxing to walk around, without having to battle with the scorching sun or rain. And for Halloween theme, the displays were specially decorated too. Cute!

The main attraction for the kids was the special Halloween “River Talk” segment. It’s an interesting way to incorporate both the Halloween theme and animals from the park, like the Owl, Iguana, Snake, Hedgehog and many more. The kids had a great time getting up close and personal with the animals too. Below you see one of the kids knocking on the door to get her ‘treat’ from the witch. Brave little girl. After her, every other kids went ahead to get theirs.

The alligator actually reminded me of our Darwin trip to the Crocodile Lake.

Too bad we didn’t get to the see the main attraction at River Safari, but only the statue. Maybe a second trip beckons us.

And the night just slips away as fast as the event. Enjoyed a night out with the family and enjoyed the serenity of the park too.
