Sponsored Event
How cool this is!! Our favourite activity at one of our favourite place!!
This is an awesome event organised by omy in conjunction Sentosa’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
Can you imagine it? Sentosa is already 40 years old, and recently they just crowned its 150 millionth guest as part of celebrations for its 40th anniversary.
What can you expect for Sentosa BBQ by the Beach?
Enjoy the view of the stunning sunset and sounds of waves lapping as you tuck into a sumptuous spread of sizzling seafood. Sentosa’s BBQ extravaganza will feature different types of BBQ techniques such as the traditional Hawaiian underground oven (known as the “imu”), vertical grill and the regular barbeque grill.
Meat-lovers will be in for a treat with the Texas-styled ribs laced with Bourbon and beer-marinated sausages. It’s a feast not to be missed!
This event is part of Singapore Food Festival 2012, and offers foodies a chance to enjoy a scrumptious array of seafood, including clams, mussels, prawns, squid, fish and crab that are grilled to luscious perfection and accompanied by eight unique homemade barbeque sauces while enjoying the experience of dining on the beach and pier.

This was our experience
Call me a childish if you want, but anything on a big balloon always catches my attention. What’s more when it helps to give directions too. The place is about 10 mins walk from the Beach Station.
We were ushered to a beautiful setting just for the media, blessed!
Here is where we had our BBQ dinner! Just along the jetty bridge, with blue & white checkers table cloth, glasses for drinks, and a super windy evening.
We were there earlier to take in the scene before the crowd came, and it was all worth it, given the day was still bright enough to take some nice shots.
Introducing the different grills
The Regular Grill – beef / lamb skewers and BBQ crayfish.
The Vertical Grill – whole prawns, crayfish and squids.
Last but not least, the Hawaiian Underground Grill aka “imu” – baby snapper, prawns, squids, mussels.
My “hot” shot by the imu, courtesy of Mint. Thanks!
--- Check out the food ---
Crispy Baby Squid with BBQ sesame sauce.
Grilled Seafood Platter – king prawns, squid, salmon, baked potato and corn on cob.
Marinated Grilled Cod’s Tongue with jalepeno and tomato salsa.
Crusted Lemon Sole with fennel, lemon, capers and dill.
Salt-wrapped parcel of Monkfish, Black Mussels and Sweet Shrimps with a touch of white wine and roasted tomato.
BBQ Lamb Skewers with capsicums.
BBQ Mango Butter Crayfish with creamy mango butter cream.
I want to recommend one of their Signature Food.
Bonito Infused Cod Fish with Mushroom & Garlic Fried Rice.
Joey’s favourite! The fish really melts in your mouth and coupled with the garlic rice, heavenly! In fact it was so nice, Joey had 2 servings of it.
For drinks, you can have a selection of soft drinks (coke or sprite), juices (orange or lime), beer (carlsberg or jim bean) or wine (white or red).
As the night comes, I chose a bottle of Jim Bean Cola and enjoyed the performance and fireworks (from the nearby Songs of the Sea, which will be performing twice a day, the fireworks will happen around 8:05pm and 9:05pm).
Final Verdict:
Food portion is quite small, but food quality is good.
Ambience is 100% fantastic!
Pricing slightly on the high, but you are paying for the experience and when you dine in Sentosa, the feeling is totally just relaxing.
