Joey Turns 7

Yup, we are late in her celebration. But for kids, it is always late than never.

Pardon the not so clean wall, but the focus is on Mummy Kless’s handiwork. I am just blessed to have a wife who loves to do handicraft. Such events are never the same without her simple yet pretty decos.

Joey obviously took after the missus, she did her part for the party too.

This year, thanks to Cadbury Dairy Milk – Singapore, we were able to do a special birthday celebration for Joey. A 1 hour Joyville Ride on the Cadbury Bus! Just one look at the bus/ tram is enough to bring out the smiles on the kids and adults too.

Even if you are not a chocolate fan (why aren’t you?), you will definitely enjoy the ride with friends and all the wacky props available for you.

 

The adults won’t be beaten by the kiddos.

And the winner for the best dressed couple, goes to … the Law couple!

It was a short ride to the Woodlands Waterfront, where we alighted for a while to take some groups shots.

In the 2nd half of the ride, more chocolates were given out to everyone.

The relaxed part of this plan was the inclusion of the 2 fantastic bus captain from the Cadbury Bus. They led games, gave out props, entertained the kids, gave out chocolates, and even took photos for us. Mr Nut-pod & Ms Fruit-top.

 

All the planning was well worth it all due to this precious smile.

We had once of the best party! No fuss, not too long, lots of laughter and beautiful people.

After the bus ride, it was just right to end off the celebration with some refreshment back at home and an ice-cream cake to cool off from a hot day.

SEA Aquarium @ Sentosa

Special thanks to the Ching and Law families, we were treated to a family package to the SEA Aquarium at Sentosa. This is the first time for both Joey and Jayne and we were quite sure they will have a great time. The only regret was to choose a weekend to visit the Aquarium.

Who would not be captivated by such a view of clear waters and colourful fishes?

The photos are not as good as my previous visit, but you get the idea. See it for yourself to experience the beauty.

The staff comes out to engage the crowd with special species of the Aquarium. He is holding on to a puppet of the hermit crab. Surprisingly, Joey was braver than Jayne this time. The expression says it all.

One of the more frequent sight in the Aquarium is the Mantra Rays, better known as ‘sting ray’ in many parts of Singapore makan places.

Can’t remember the actual name, but it’s a squid.

Personally, the jelly fishes are the most beautiful sea creature in the Aquarium. I can just stand there are stare at the many different species of jelly fishes and the gracefulness of their movements.

EatPlayLove Cafe

Jumping onto the wagon of parent bloggers who have already posted about this newly opened cafe along Aliwal Street, EatPlayLove Cafe. This was our second visit in less than 10 days.

The staff were very friendly and very used to people going around taking photos of their deco, merchandise and crafts. Probably, the boss secretly hopes that more people will talk about it or share our photos. I think that is a very clever strategy and of course it works fine for bloggers like us.

Though it is a cafe, but the kitchen closes everyday from 3-6pm. But during this period, they will still serve cakes, desserts and drinks. We didn’t try out lunch menu except for a bowl of pasta for the girls while they did their art & craft session. Maybe a 3/5 score.

Personally, I don’t really like the coffee as it was slightly bland to my preference. But that was not the main reason for visiting the cafe. The selling point is the craft corner available for kids to play for 2 hours at an affordable price of S$5 per child. That is translated to 2 hours of freedom for all parents while your child is enjoying some creative fun.

The materials available for the craft is one of the best I have seen around in most of the kid-friendly cafes in Singapore.

Colour papers like we have seen during my primary school days. These will never go out of fashion.

I think it would be a dream come true if we have such a corner at home for the girls.

 

 

I’m really glad that both the girls take after Kless in the area of creativity. See how cute the face picture Joey did with the cotton balls?

The younger sibling will always tend to follow the elder one. I love the look on Jayne’s face.

 

More craft materials for your choice.

 

The feel around the cafe is one of free art and creativity. These are some of the crafts done by customers and they probably have left it behind to be displayed.

If you are not so keen to create for yourself, ready made ‘monsters’ are available for you as well.

To the girls, these are new toys and food, but for a nearly 40 years old man, this is what we call retro.

I’m quite sure we will be back again for the craft. Even thinking that I could hold my birthday bash here where the kids can have their fun and all of us parents and friends can have our relaxed afternoon tea.
