Smiths Authentic British Fish & Chips

Have you heard of this excellent place at Tanjong Katong Rd that serves the best Fish & Chips I have tasted in Singapore. That coming from a no-fish person, I may be very biased. But I have been to this place twice and I had to say the fish is good!

IMG_5756

Be prepared to queue for your food. The place is quite small but the English boss is a very humorous guy. If you want some chilli sauce or tartar sauce, do remember to ask quietly, cos the authentic British way is only vinegar and tomato sauce.

Girls, we will be having Dory Fish!

IMG_5752

Jayne, you have to share with Jie Jie.

IMG_5753

2nd time there, we went with the Gang. And here is Tristan with his beer, a perfect choice for a hot afternoon.

IMG_5761

Joey never misses the chance to sit besides one of her favourite Uncle and “pesters” him.

IMG_5760

Dory & Chips, served in a very unique way.

IMG_5763

A smile of approval from Joey. Mission a success =)

IMG_5766

Do give it a try. Especially if you are a Liverpool fan (the boss is one).

记得吃 @ Liang Seah Street

Have you been to this dessert place? It has the best Sesame Paste in Singapore. Every time we were there, I will definitely order a bowl and I have also introduced it to my kids. Seems like they enjoyed it too. Tho’ Jayne still needs a bit more time..

I like this photo! When I grow old in future, I will look at it and remember how we enjoyed a bowl of sesame paste together.

IMG_5510

IMG_5504

Dinner @ Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant

IMG_5313

You can find this restaurant either in Raffles City or VivoCity.

We were there a few weeks ago celebrating a friend’s birthday. My advise is to make a reservation if you want to be sure you have a seat. When we were there, the queue to enter the restaurant was very long and waiting time can be about 30-40 mins.

Since it was a German restaurant, you can’t leave without trying the beers!

IMG_5322

IMG_5323

Just to understand how big the glasses are, we took a photo of Beer vs Justin.

IMG_5339

Food was good! A lot of meat. Sausages seems to be one of the main attractions.

What is Jayne looking at?

Her favourite fries!

Crocs Attack

Do you have any idea who invented Crocs Shoes? Let me enlighten (humour) you…

Crocs was invented by a an entrepreneur George B. Boedecker Jr. from Quebec (you will know where Quebec is if you play Risk). The shoe was originally developed as a spa shoe. Now Crocs is a brand that has extended to cover not only shoes but also products such as sunglasses, goggles, knee pads, watches & luggage.

As much as I dislike Crocs, my girls love them. It all started when my younger brother bought home 2 pairs of Crocs for Joey. Jayne was not born yet. And since then, Joey just loves to wear these rubbery shoes.

IMG_5411

If Joey likes it so much, you don’t need to be an expert to know that Jayne likes it too and as good parents, we will oblige and buy both of them another pair of Crocs.

IMG_5408

IMG_5409

The story doesn’t stops… Crocs attack III was launched when there was a Crocs sales going on in Suntec last week. This time, it was dual power!

IMG_5410

I just wonder, will Kless and myself be attacked by Crocs?

Growing Up

It’s just amazing to see how my 2 girls are growing up daily. It’s no joke to say that it was like yesterday when both of them were babies in my arms. Time flies when you see your kids grow up.

Joey will be turning 5 in April. She has grown up to be a fine lady. When she was younger, around the age of 3, she was quite tom-boyish. Doesn’t like dolls, not so much into dresses, but now she will only wear dresses not shorts or pants. She will carry her Barbie Doll everywhere she goes. And she loves to bring her umbrella out every time even when it is not raining.

Doesn’t she look so lady..

IMG_5030

IMG_5028

Jayne will be turning 2 soon. And she is at the stage when she is learning to be more aware of what she should do and what she should not. Though most of the time she will choose to do what she should not and not does what she should. *Faint*

Here, she is learning to sit on the toilet bowl quietly and does her “business”.

Joy Of Staying @ HDB

I really think staying in a HDB flat is a blessing. 80% of Singaporeans stays in HDB.

I have stayed in a Kampong where the roads are dirt road, the toilet is situated outside the house, the water supply is a algae-covered well. But the real joy of staying in a HDB is not just because of the cleanliness, but because of the closeness of neighbours not found in any Condos or Land Properties.

And also the vast area available for kids to enjoy themselves. Void Deck!

Lazy Afternoon @ Loysel’s Toy

IMG_4869

This is a cafe situated at one the least human traffic area in Singapore, Kampong Bugis Road. Don’t know where is it? No worries, you are not alone. It’s near Lavendar MRT, the place known as ‘Gas City’ by the older folks.

Why were we there? Cos Kless read about it on someone’s blog. Just like that.

The place is quite small, not your usual cosy cafe style. But I have to say the coffee is pretty good. And for me that is good enough!

IMG_4886

IMG_4888

A nice place to laze around on an afternoon with no agenda.

IMG_4874

IMG_4882

Best of all, it gave me a time to read my magazine while enjoying a cup of coffee and Joey was there with me.
